"Almost since its inception, Dog Point has been recognized as among the very top (arguably the very top) wine producers in New Zealand. Their two very different Sauvignon Blancs, their Pinot Noir, and their Chardonnay are all wines of astounding quality and complexity not just in the context of New Zealand wines, but globally."
Dog Point’s Sauvignon Blanc has become the icon in its category, a stainless steel Sauvignon Blanc that pulsates with energy, expressiveness and complexity that push the boundaries of what you may expect from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
Pale straw in color. The aromas are bright, fresh, citrus driven sauvignon, with elements of honeydew melon, pears and gala apples in the background. A very pure, yet restrained, classic sauvignon expression. The citrus core of flavours are juicy and intense. Deliciously refreshing saline acidity and mellow rounded texture on the finish.
The wine calls for fresh, simple seafood, but as usual, can be enjoyed on its own.
A focused, precise expression of Sauvignon Blanc, with makrut lime leaf aromatics, notes of fresh lemon sorbet and a touch of fresh ginger. Ends with plenty of lime zest details on the mouthwatering finish, where a note of orange blossom lingers. Drink now. 35,000 cases made, 8,000 cases imported. MaryAnn Worobiec, Web Only -2023.
