chateau Montaud is a family-owned company founded in 1964 and located in Pierrefeu du Var, one of the loveliest villages in the Var department of Povence. The Ravel family has created a viticultural estate that today is one of the most important in the Provence region. The domaine is housed at Château Montaud, on the site of an ancient Roman settlement. The property includes the winery, bottling plant, and administrative offices. In addition to AOP Côtes de Provence wines, the domaine in 2013 began producing a rosé from the new sub-appellation Côtes de Provence Pierrefeu. All production adheres to the principles of low yields, no irrigation, harvest at the point of perfect ripeness, use of advanced technology, and faithfulness to noble traditions.
Winemaker's Note:
A classic Cotes de Provence rosé: dry, crisp, refreshing, full of fruit, and ideal for anytime. Traditional growing methods are given priority and include ploughing to ventilate the soil and using organic farming rather than chemicals and artificial processes.

Wet stones and spice jump out at first followed by a combination of peach and pear aromas on the nose. The palate is similarly spicy with lots of white pepper which runs into pleasing stony grapefruit flavors. 5/1/2025.
