The Pinot Grigio is grown in the Venezia Giulia region, including the provinces of Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste and Udine. The alluvial soils consist of a gravel sub-layer covered by reddish clay rich in iron oxide. The vines average 10-15 years and are bilateral Guyot trained.
A clean-cut white, light- to medium-bodied and zesty, with a stony underpinning and an appealing range of kiwifruit, peach skin, grated ginger and orchard blossom. Drink now. 20,000 cases made, 12,000 cases imported. Alison Napjus, 10/15/2021.
