Ebulliently perfumed, almost red flower petal-like; finishes classically bitterish and drier than many Lambruscos; would be delicious with heartier fare; half made of delightfully named Salamino grape, so called because the berries resemble little salumi. -Bill St. John
This semi-sparkling is rich, full-bodied and well-balanced. It is bright, deep ruby red in color with purplish highlights. The Ottocentonero has intense aromas with hints of cherries and wild berries.
Ideal as an aperitif or throughout the meal. It goes well with hors d’oeuvres of cold cuts or quiches, and it is perfect with pasta dishes, lasagna, grilled red meats and highly-flavored recipes.
Moderately saturated ruby-red. The nose shows a kirsch-like ripeness, but also fresher notes of violet and rose. Fine-grained and primary in the mouth, with blue and red fruit flavors lifted by a floral topnote. Nicely combines sweetness and juiciness on the long bright finish. Lots of flavor and only 11.5% alcohol. (Jan 2018)
