Château de Chambert" is the historic wine of the chateau, a blend of 85% Malbec and 15% Merlot. The addition of merlot gives the wine a suppleness and expressive red fruit characters in its youth and the Malbec component increases its cellaring potential.
This wine is aged 12 months in barrel to achieve a perfect balance of fruit, silky tannins and a delicate spice of french oak.

This wine comes mainly from biodynamically grown grapes produced on this 17th-century estate. It is rich and dense, a blend of Malbec with a twist of Merlot. The wine has structure, firm tannins and concentrated, rich black fruits. Roger Voss, 6/1/2019.

Bramble, green notes on the nose, strong red cherry and strawberry notes on the palate, fruit forward and quite strong but maybe lacking in complexity or finesse. Dry tannins round the palate off and there is definitely ripe fruits and a nice length just not overly interesting.
