They
say $23 (WineReviewOnline.com), we say $18+, when bought by the case!
"This has long been my one of my go-to wines, and a standard I measure
other affordable bubblies against. The price has edged up over the years,
though, going over the $20 rubicon. Still, there's a lot of value here: it's
made from all estate Anderson Valley fruit, about 60% Chardonnay and 40%
Pinot Noir. While there is a touch of oak, there's little to no malolactic
fermentation, creating a bright, fruity wine that I see as an archetype of
the California style, ironic in that Roederer is a French company. It
delivers green apple and lime with a little crusty bread and some yeastiness
on the finish."

They

If it's a great value at $8.99, what is it at $6+?
"...By the way, Cono Sur, this time the 2008, did well in our blind
tasting, too, and, for $8.99, it's a great value. And here's an interesting
postscript: While the wines we tasted, including our favorites, generally
had seen quite a bit of oak, the Cono Sur never touched oak. It was just
pure, ripe, marvelous fruit (including 10% Cabernet Sauvignon). Bravo!"
Good/Very Good. Best value. Rich, round, peppery and lively, with ripe, dark
fruits and surprising acidity. Soft enough for easy enjoyment, but with
plenty of verve, too.

"Plush and polished. Not a big wine, but applies pillowy
tannins around a core of dark berry and sassafras flavors. Syrah, Cabernet
Franc, Sangiovese, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now."

"Sweet cherry aromas jump from the glass. A lovely blend of cola,
strawberry and juicy raspberry flavors balance the polished palate with
smooth tannins. The finish is silky with a refreshing texture." Overlooking
the Columbia River sits Vineyard 10, one of the original Columbia Crest
estate vineyards that consistently produces exceptional fruit. The Two Vines
Vineyard 10 blends are a tribute to this special place. The mild winter
allowed the vines to remain in good shape throughout the cold months. In
May, one to two weeks before bloom, temperatures spiked to 100 degrees for
about a week. The heat spike led to a smaller canopy which allowed for more
light penetration, and contributed to good flavor development in the fruit.
The hot temperatures also contributed to smaller berries with concentrated
flavors."

Bordeaux.... less than $15, when bought by the case!
"Every once in a while comes a curve ball in the wine world.
99% of the 2005 Bordeaux's under $30 are drinking good now, but show signs
that with a little patience, they'll be awesome in 3-5 more years. Then
comes along a wine from a sub-region of Saint Emilion that breaks all the
rules.
The 2005 Promesse De Soleil is DRINKING GREAT NOW - DARK, INKY black (so
much so that it stains the glass), Full Bodied and Dense with notes of Ripe
Raspberries and Vanilla. Wonderful finesse that coats the palate, the
Promesse is SUPER SMOOTH with ripe fruit and a delight to drink now and
should get better over the next 3-5 years, but why wait when it drinks so
well right now.
A 2005 Red Bordeaux for $15+ by the case WILL SELL-OUT!!!!!!!!!
A property that is owned by Stephan Von Niepperg that has revolutionized

off a 90 point Chablis!
I have to admit, I approached this with some hesitation. Our
vendor said the wine was good, but I worried about it being five years old.
I told him, "You'd better be right, 'cause you're not gonna be happy when
you have to take it all back."
The long and the short...... They didn't have to take it back, and I was
quite surprised just how good it was. Notice the review says drink till
2015.... they're right!
"Succulent and expressive, offering apple, honey and mineral aromas and
flavors, supported by a firm structure. The honey will emerge with age.
Balanced and long. Drink now through 2015."

"This
incredible wine gets my vote as California's best Sauvignon Blanc.....
......Grgich has created a magical combination of the pungency
in Sauvignon Blanc with great minerality. A touch of barrel fermentation,
oak aging and lees contact imparts an amazing texture and length without
obliterating the spark of Sauvignon Blanc. As with all great wine, it
becomes more complex with time in the glass, as attractive smokiness and
flinty aspect emerges. And Grgich's reputation doesn't even come from
Sauvignon Blanc."
