superb value....."
..... 90 points too!!
“The 2008 Triton is 100% Tinta de Toro sourced from old vines some of
which are located outside the boundaries of Toro requiring that the generic
DO of Castilla y Leon be utilized. The wine was aged for 15 months in new
French oak. Notes of Asian spices, tar, tapenade, violets, blackberry, and
blueberry inform the nose of this richly fruity, layered, lengthy offering.
There is enough underlying structure to allow for another 2-3 years of
development and this superb value can be enjoyed through 2020 if not
longer.” ($15-$20)

".....This
is a Pinot Gris you don't want to miss....."
"Outstanding Pinot Grigio from Oregon - Very Limited! Carlton
Cellars makes Outstanding Pinot Gris! A good friend who went on vacation
last summer to Oregon brought back a bottle of the 2010 and it was easily
the best Pinot Gris from Oregon - Amazing. Unfortunately, the winery made
less than 100 cases of their first vintage 2010 Pinot Gris and it was sold
out in 3 weeks at the winery. This year, the 2011 production of Pinot Gris
is all of 500+ cases, still a very small amount for the whole USA. At least
there's enough so I can offer it out to our loyal customers. This is a Pinot
Gris you don't want to miss.
Carlton Cellars is a relatively new winery located in the scenic Willamette
Valley in Oregon. Dave Grooters is the winemaker and he's producing some of
the best Pinot Noir's in all of Oregon (Seven Devil's Pinot Noir). And
starting last year, Dave started making Teeny tiny amounts of a delicious
Pinot Gris. Now the 2011 has been released and we've been able to acquire a
small amount to sell here at Pop's. The 2011 Carlton Cellars Pinot Gris is
drinking beautifully. Crisp and vibrant with golden apple, melon, and pear
notes make this wine super refreshing and very food-friendly. The 2011
Carlton Cellars Pinot Gris is unlike any other produced in Oregon. It's
intentionally, Very Dry... And it's been a big hit among consumers of Pinot
Grigios. The secret? Most of the bigger producers ferment all the way dry
and then blend in fresh juice to sweeten the wine to an off-dry level...
cause we consumers say we want dry - when we really enjoy a bit of
sweetness. Not your ordinary Pinot Gris... That's why I loved it so much!
Get some before it's gone! This will sell out!"

".....The
pedigree of these great vineyards comes through clearly in this superb
value....."
"Ex-Libris is a proprietary project from one our favorite fine
wine suppliers. Through their many connections with some top wineries in
Washington and California, we were able to secure superlative lots of wine
from top vineyards. The goal of the project is to produce wines that drink
like $30-$40 bottles, but sell for $20 or $14.96 when bought by the case at
Pop’s.
I’ve been drinking this small production wine for quite a few vintages now
and the 2009 is probably one of the biggest and fullest vintage to date. On
the nose, it is classic WA State Cab, with deep cassis fruit and hints of
cedar and spice. The palate is full, with broad concentrated fruit, and a
Bordelaise structure that is often found in the Northwest’s best Cabernets.
The pedigree of these great vineyards comes through clearly in this superb
value Cabernet. If you're a fan of rich, ripe Cabernet Sauvignons, then this
is the wine that you have to try! I think their goal was accomplished!

".....You
gotta taste this!!!!! I did & it is glorious!!!!!!!! ...."
You'll taste Pinot Noir ripe red- fruit flavors accentuated by a
surprising depth and earthiness from a wine-maker who grew up making wines
in Burgundy, France thirty years ago....THIS WINE CLEARLY OUTCLASSES any
bottle in its category.....soft smoky notes, touches of spice and strong
red-fruit scents draw the drinker (me) into realizing that this Pinot should
easily be twice its price....ALL THIS FOR $10 BUCKS!
Meet the wine maker, Christian Roguenant, hailed by the Wine Spectator as a
winemaker to watch. Christian Roguenant, a career winemaker, with almost 30
years experience who grew up in Burgundy, France, and who has worked for
Champagne Deutz and Laetitia, began making wines in Burgundy, France back in
the late 1970's.With his hands-on approach, he takes special care in
bringing out the particular terroir, while his singular passion has always
been Pinot Noir.
Meet the wine, 2010 Bacchus Pinot Noir,
David Gordon, Wine Director at Tribeca Grill for over 20 years began using
his contacts in Napa and Sonoma to source the best quality fruit around to
produce the Bacchus wine label..... Initially the small batches of excellent
wine made were sold only at Tribeca Grill, Nobu and Montrachet, but soon
enough the demand for the wine became immense. So today, the wine is
available to Pop's and for sure a wine I must tell you about. NOW!
"This 2010 Bacchus Pinot is soft, filled with red- berries, and so easy to
love. When I tasted it, I loved its simple pleasures and delicious layers of
flavor, with balance acidity- which is all we'd ever ask from a New World
Pinot at a twenty-dollar price. But this is only $10!!!....and we all admit
that we're often skeptical of California Pinots, as the heat and sunshine
are enemies of this delicate grape. But this is a lovely version and even
though it's New World, you can taste essences of an Old World winemaker;
terroir
You gotta taste this!!!!! I did & it is glorious!!!!!!!!

95
point Muscadet!
“Marc Ollivier grows this at a two-acre parcel of 60- to
90-year-old vines planted on the granite of the Massive Armoricain; he and
several other growers on this terroir now create special bottlings under the
Granite de Clisson label. This wine ages for 24 months on the lees,
developing a brilliant depth of flavor that sets it apart from its siblings.
The color is platinum, the scent a compelling mix of lime, orange blossom,
fig and sage. There’s a brothy richness, like an infusion of lobster shells,
a ripe juiciness that’s focused and firmed up along its silken texture.
Destined to become a classic, this wine will age for a decade or more.”
