".....This
wine is mighty fine for under ten bucks....."
"I usually steer friends to cru Beaujolais because the
difference in price between a cru and a village wine generally isn’t that
great. But if you’re ever going to cheap out and try to save a few bucks by
going for the village Beaujolais, the time to do it is in a great vintage
like 2010. This wine is mighty fine for under ten bucks."

"Though this wine was once made from an estate vineyard in the
Anderson Valley, the quality has remained very high despite expanded
grape-sourcing. It has long been a favorite, an exquisitely balanced
Sauvignon with a fair amount of complexity. It’s made more in the generous,
fleshy style of white Bordeaux than the zingy, pungent style of New
Zealand." ($14)

".....The
result is a magnificent wine....."
"I have to say I don’t know of anyone who has more integrity
in the wine business then Christian Troy of Indie Wines. So when he told me
that the 2010 Piedmonts are going to be spectacular, I immediately took
notice of the 2010 Roccabella form Eugenio Bocchino. Now this long has been
one of my favorites. The Roccabella vineyard lies right outside the Barolo
border and you can taste it in the structure and class this wine possesses
in its youth. This wine is a great introduction to Barolo and more so,
Nebbiolo. Since its address lies outside the zone it cannot be called Barolo
and it sure has all the right components but without the lofty price tag. It
has the elegance, yet the tannins, while present, are slightly more subdued
and approachable. The result is a magnificent wine for drinking now, but
with enough backbone to age 5-10 years.

“A very distinctive and exotic style that's well-executed. Ultrarich and
creamy, offering a medley of butterscotch, fig, roasted marshmallow and
honeysuckle flavors, ending with a lingering finish. Drink now through
2015.”

"This
has to be the BEST deal in California Cabernet EVER.....
"This blows away BV Tapestry... Blows away for the
price/quality anything made by Silver Oak...... Pretty bold statement... You
gotta taste this wine to believe it. The 2010 Katherine Goldschmidt Cab,
Alexander Valley is a STUPENDOUS VALUE.
In the Hampton's... They are selling this wine to all their Silver Oak
customers for $49.99 a bottle. $49.99 is a great deal for this wine. But at
Pop's, we're too honest. We believe you'll go nuts for this wine and tell
all your friends about it.
Here's the scoop..... This wine is sourced from the same vineyard where the
Simi Reserve Cab Sauvignon was sourced until Constellation in all their
infinite wisdom, decided to discontinue making the wine after purchasing the
Simi wine group. They decided not to make a Simi Reserve anymore...
Their loss... YOUR GAIN!!!!
Nick Goldschmidt has been farming this vineyard since 1989 and continues to
do so today... Naming the label after his youngest daughter "Katherine."
This is a Single Varietal (100% Cab), Single Vineyard, Single Vintage
wine... The vineyard, Crazy Creek is an east-facing vineyard so the grapes
ripen with Morning sun... not afternoon sun, which usually bakes the fruit
too much.
I recommend decanting this for 2 hours. You can leave this wine open 3 days
and it'll drink great! It's actually Phenomenal on day 2..... Try that with
any Cab under $50... most of them fall apart.
This is a $65 quality wine for $18.11 by the case... ..This is the most
insane value I've found in many years...

"If
we served this wine together blind, guessing and shouts of $40 bucks paid
would soon follow..."
"I go through a lot of wine in my house. Now before you get
the wrong idea, let me add that these are usually wines in which I sample or
perhaps, have no more than a glass (8 ounces, I like a big glass!) a day.
But between my girlfriend and I, we can easily consume about 3 - 5 bottles a
week. And as you can imagine, friends and family love to hang-out with the
wine guy, particularly with all the great wine around...... so 4 -5 bottles
can easily turn into 8 - 9 a week. That can add up, particularly if you like
the expensive stuff. But having a father who knows good wine only from taste
and nothing else, I pay attention. Actually, it was father who steered me
into my wine-career, so when he tells me that Chile makes killer wines that
drink 3 times their price, I listen, taste, and then buy!! So with that
said, Chile is NOW world famous for the quality of its wines and Mont Gras
(producer I adore) is leading the way!! Truly killer 'Juice' here...
"Dark, powerful and minty, with a friendly blast of Chilean Dust, black
fruit marmalade and perfume on the bouquet. The palate shows potent acidity
and smooth tannins, while the flavors are dark and feature a fair share of
vanilla, butter and creamy (modern) accents. Black cassis (Carmenere grape)
covers the finish and purely a Chilean bottle that speaks dollar volume upon
tasting... Modern-styled Chilean Bordeaux? I like the sound of that!"
