Our
best selling Sauvignon Blanc.....
"Babich’s 2011 Sauvignon Blanc offers pronounced notes of ripe
apples, pear slices and lemon peel with a whiff of hemp. Crisp and clean in
the mouth, this medium bodied Sauvignon offers a decent mouthful of flavor
and a medium-long apple laced finish. Drink it now to 2013."
Lisa Perrotti-Brown, eRobertParker.com, October 2011
"Joe Babich favours ‘a fuller, riper, softer style of Sauvignon Blanc.
It’s not a jump out of the glass style, but the wines develop well.’ The
latest releases reflect a rising input of grapes from the company’s Cowslip
Valley Vineyard in the Waihopai Valley, which gives less herbaceous fruit
characters than its other Marlborough vineyards. The 2011 vintage is ripely
scented, with a distinct suggestion of ‘sweaty armpit’. Full-bodied and dry,
it’s a very non-herbaceous style, with strong yet delicate, well-ripened
flavours of passionfruit and lime, a rounded finish and great drinkability."

60
wines & 300 people..... #1!!
"Only in Australia can you be a "JUDGE" AND a "WINEMAKER!!!"
Judge George Shinas is producing OUTSTANDING WINES that could fetch $40
each, but at less than $20 each are MIND BOGGLING VALUES!
At a recent tasting event with 60 different wines open on 12 tables and over
300 people attending - The 2008 GUILTY was the #1 selling wine. Of a total
121 bottles sold at the event, over 73 bottles were the 2008 "The Guilty"
Shiraz from George Shinas. That's an unbelievable number of the same wine.
This wine must be great! And it IS GREAT! Anyone who thinks Shiraz is a
tooty-fruity little wine should try this Blockbuster! This estate bottled
Shiraz is from a single vineyard that's first plantings date back to 1898,
and it has the concentration and power to prove it. Massive black fruit
flavors as well as peppery spice, chocolate, black cherry and tobacco notes
characterize this wine.
The public has spoken... And Pops has a good supply to satisfy the demand.
Don't miss out!

".....At
this price, it's an astonishing value....."
"You could use this as a teaching tool for classic Sonoma
County Zinfandel. It's full-bodied, dry and spicy, with briary flavors of
wild berries, mocha, tobacco, leather and exotic spices. More importantly,
it's absolutely delicious. The grapes come from Seghesio's best vineyards in
the Alexander and Dry Creek valleys. At this price, it's an astonishing
value, especially considering that production was nearly 80,000 cases."

A
Great Vintage, A Great price, A Great Score.....
"2007 was an outstanding year for Brunello wines throughout
Italy and so far we've had much enjoyment offering them to you. But the 2007
Sesta listed here is worlds apart from the rest; NEVER and I mean NEVER had
Pop's been able to obtain a Brunello di Montalcino for $25+ (by the case),
rated 94pts and from a vintage that some simply describe as remarkable."
Michael L. Crafa, Pop's Wines & Spirits, April, 2012
“Tenuta di Sesta is run by a perfect father-mother-daughter-son team and
is located in one of the least-traveled corners of Montalcino. The 2007
Brunello delivers sweet oak tones that drive the initial bouquet and are
soon followed by bright cherry, vanilla bean, sweet mocha and rum cake.
Pretty balsam notes at the back will undoubtedly increase and evolve with
age. Cellar this wine ten more years.”

“Exceptionally well-proportioned and harmonious, this wine is
an object lesson in the virtues of balance and integration. Close scrutiny
reveals ripe fruit that recalls dark cherries and wild strawberries, along
with backnotes of mushrooms, smoke and Asian spices. Close scrutiny is
required to extract these descriptors for the simple reason that the wine
presents itself as a seamless whole--and a very impressive one. Platinum
award winner at the San Diego International Wine Competition. ($35)

One
of our favorite Rieslings.....
"Eroica has put on racing stripes for 2010—a lean vintage with
scents of lime and lemon, revealing a mineral spine from the aroma straight
through to the finish. After a day the structure lengthens a bit and the
flavors relax into lemon from lime, but the wine still has plenty of drive.
Built for the cellar."
